ACUPUNCTURE HEALING & PAIN MANAGEMENT
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique for balancing the flow of energy, life, and force of the body - also known as "Qi" energy.
This is practiced with the use of needles inserted through an animal's skin at specific points of the body called acupuncture points. Increased use of this method treats pain and relieves discomfort. Other treatment variations may include electric or moxibustion use of heat.
INITIAL CONSULTATION: what to expect
The first visit consists of a consultation with our acupuncture-certified veterinarian, Dr. Stephanie Rivera.
There will be an extensive review of the patient's medical history and lifestyle. Dr. Rivera will evaluate the patient's condition and may request x-rays or bloodwork to evaluate further and create a treatment plan.
The first visit is usually the longest, but once a treatment plan is established, the treatment visits decrease in time.

Benefits of a Treatment effective over hundreds of years...
Having been used effectively for hundreds of years for a variety of diseases, acupuncture stimulates healing of some conditions, and provides effective pain relief in others.
When properly applied, it may eliminate the need for surgery in certain cases. This has been used for relieving anxiety, back and joint pains, diarrhea, and eyestrain. It also improves the immune system and provides relief from allergies.
Following surgery (if applicable), it can improve the patient's comfort level and speed up the post-operative recovery period. In some cases, it may reduce or eliminate the use of medication. However, we cannot provide a guarantee for the outcome of any course of the treatment.
